Hayes Woollen, Jr., MD is the Executive Vice President for Novant Health and President of Novant Medical Group. He has been with Presbyterian Medical Group since 1994, serving as Co-President and Chairman of PMG. In addition, he has served as Chief of PMG's Divisoin of Family Medicine since 1998. Dr. Woollen is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is an undergraduate of Davidson College and received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in 1991. He completed his Family Medicine Residency Program and served as Chief Resident in 1994 at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. In 2004, Dr. Woollen served as the President of the Mecklenburg County Medical Society, and President of the Mecklenburg Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians in 1999.

His current professional affiliations include American Medical Association, American College of Physician Executives, American Academy of Family Physicians, MCMS, and North Carolina Medical Society. He is in the National Registry of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, has been selected to Charlotte Magazine's "Top Doctors" Selection, and Business North Carolina Magazine "Premier Physicians Selection". In addition, he has been named to the Consumer Research Council's "Top Family Doctors in America" selection.

He and his wife, Susan, have three children. He enjoys golf, skiing and travel.
