SCHOOL BASED MOBILE PANTRY

This program supplements our backpack program at high-poverty rate elementary schools in Charlotte. To help ensure that our children have enough nutritious food to eat and come to school prepared to learn, this program provides on-site food shopping for low-income families. Each pantry includes staple goods, fresh produce, meat, and essential non-food items such as toilet paper and diapers. The Food Bank is currently working with a dozen elementary schools and plans to continue to expand this program.
