Branch Network
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina distributes food from five locations. The main warehouse in Charlotte has 23,000 square feet of dry storage; 1220 square feet of refrigerator storage and 2350 square feet of freezer storage. Three branch warehouses facilitate distribution of food in rural areas with higher poverty rates.
The Pee Dee Branch located in Mt. Gilead opened in 1991 and serves over 50 agencies in Montgomery, Stanly and Anson Counties. The Pee Dee Branch has over 5000 square feet of dry, refrigerator and freezer storage.
The Catawba Branch in Hickory opened in February of 2006 with 10,000 square feet of food storage, including refrigerator and freezer, to serve over 75 agencies in Catawba, Burke and Lincoln counties.
The Dallas Branch in Gaston County opened in January 2008 with 3,000 square feet of food storage including refrigerator and freezer. The branch serves over 90 agencies in Gaston, Cleveland, Rutherford and Cherokee (SC) counties.
