WHAT: Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina’s 25th Anniversary of our Empty Bowls fundraising luncheon is back at the Charlotte Convention Center-Richardson Ballroom and hosted by Mary King, WBTV News This Morning and WBTV News Noon Anchor. Empty Bowls attendees will enjoy lunch, bid on items at the huge silent auction, purchase tickets for a celebratory $2,500 Food Lion Gift Card raffle, see live pottery demonstrations, and select a hand-made bowl to take home that will serve as a reminder that someone’s bowl is always empty. This year we welcome our friend and Executive Director of Clayworks, Adrienne Dellinger to speak for a few minutes about what participating in Empty Bowls for many years means to them. Let’s all come together for this event because we need to continue our efforts, now more than ever, to alleviate hunger in the 24-county service region (14 counties in NC and 10 counties in SC) that the Food Bank serves.
