SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF METROLINA REPORTS ON STATE OF SNAP CUT-OFF AND GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN IMPACTS ON 24 COUNTIES THEY SERVE STATUS OF DISTRIBUTIONS TO THOSE IMPACTED AS WELL AS FOOD BANK NEEDS FROM THE COMMUNITY
[CHARLOTTE, NC] – Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is hosting a press conference to share their current and future steps in helping those impacted by SNAP cut-offs due to the government shutdown. This event will provide an opportunity for interviews with Kay Carter, CEO of the Food Bank.

November 5, 2025, Wednesday - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Media setup begins at 10:45 a.m.
WHERE:
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, 500-B Spratt Street, Charlotte, NC 28206 Upon arrival, you will be met at the main entrance to the Food Bank - where the glass atrium is located. You will be escorted to the Volunteer Center where you can set-up for the press conference.
WHY:
The opportunity to hear the work that has been done by the Food Bank since the shutdown, detailed plans moving forward which include large box packing events with corporate partners, food collection drives, and how SHFBM is asking for help during this uncertain time.
VISUALS:
Media will receive an overview document that includes future food bank activities, as well as distribution plans for those who have lost their SNAP benefits. Filming will take place during the press conference, but no warehouse filming due to the extremely busy nature of operations at the Food Bank at this time. Media is invited to any of the future packing events as well as distributions when those dates are confirmed.
