The Need Is Urgent

Give Food

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina supplies food and essential grocery items to over 950 agencies feeding hungry people in 24 counties. A food donation to the Food Bank helps all of these organizations and the people who live in our region. Over the course of a year, we distribute 78 million pounds to these organizations. Please give food and help us feed those who are hungry.

Giving 101

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina accepts donations from individuals, groups and food and retail industry partners.

Individuals can donate new and unopened shelf-stable food and household items to a community food drive or, if you would like a donation receipt, you may bring your donation to one of our warehouses during posted operating hours.

Food & Fund Drives are a fun and easy way to multiply your giving! In fact, last year Food & Fund Drives provided the equivalent of 10 million pounds of food to neighbors in need. If you are an individual or a group interested in hosting a food and/or fund drive, we hope you will visit our website’s  Host a Food & Fund Drive page  to learn more about starting your own drive today.

Food and retail industry partners like distributors, maufacturers, restaurants, retail stores and growers play a big role in eliminating hunger in our region. This past fiscal year, these partners provided 80% of all items distributed across our 24 county region. Our industry partners donate unopened dry, shelf-stable, refrigerated and frozen food items; fresh produce, personal care and cleaning products; boxes; office and warehouse supplies; obsolete promotional items and bulk products.

Donations to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina are covered by the national Good Samaritan laws. In addition, product donations generate tax benefits for participating companies.

If you are in the food or retail industry and are interested in learning more about how you or your company can donate, please visit our Industry Donor Partners page.
