We Look Forward to Seeing You Soon - Here's How to Complete Your Volunteer Profile:

If your work email does not allow you to enter our online calendar, please consider using a personal cell phone or computer. 

**Note all Accounts must use unique Email addresses**

1.  Creating an account is required in order to Volunteer.

2.  Choose a campaign and event.


3.  Individuals:  Select a date and shift and register.


4.  Families: Select a shift and choose who in your family will be attending/

5.  Groups:  Once your individual profile is setup, you can then setup your Group.  At this point, do not register for a date if you are bringing a group -  setup your group and then include yourself in your group count and register.

Step 1 – Sign into your individual profile and go to account information
Step 2 - Once on account information, click update.
Step 3 -There is a button on the page that says “Add a Group”.
Step 4 - Fill out the required information and hit submit.


Once complete, you will get a confirmation which will have your name and the number of spots reserved.  If you need to cancel, go to your account information page and cancel the shift.  If you need to change the number of volunteers, please email us. 


One week before your scheduled date, please confirm the number of volunteers to  nhagerman@secondharvest.org. The system will not allow you to adjust your own count. If you need to cancel a group, please give us at least a 5 day notice.


It’s that easy! But if you get stuck, please setup your individual profile and then email us at issues@secondharvest.org and I’ll set up your group. Hope to see you

That's it - Please Remember:

- Once your profile is complete, you will not be asked for this information again.


- When you want to volunteer, you will go to the online calendar, sign-in, and choose date(s) that are available.  A confirmation email and a reminder email will be sent to you. It is also very easy to cancel your date, change your date or add your name to a waitlist.

- Change to Families - Families are no longer individual accounts linked by email. To set up a family only one person needs an account and they can then add as many people as they want using the “add family” functionality at the sign up page or on the account information update page. All that is required is First name, Last name and birthdate. Please note that family members can not sign up by themselves thus the main account holder must sign up on behalf of family members. If you want to sign up for your own shifts by yourself. Please either complete a new registration form or email at us at issues@secondharvest.org in order if you need help.

Court Ordered or PreTrial Intervention (PTI) Community Service must contact the Volunteer Coordinator before scheduling volunteer time as not all charges are accepted. In 2019-2020 we distributed over 70 million pounds of food and household items to individuals in need through our 800+ partner agencies in 14 counties in NC and 10 counties in SC. Last year, over 98,000 volunteers donated 278,000 hours and there is still more work to be done!
