Hurricane Relief

Since Hurricane Florence stormed into the Carolinas, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina staff and volunteers have worked countless hours to help our neighboring food banks up and down the coasts of North and South Carolina.

You heard our plea to reach out and help our neighbors. Thanks to many of you we have already been able to provide 37 tractor trailer loads of food, cleaning supplies, diapers and water to the hardest hit areas of Wilmington, New Bern, Fayetteville and Myrtle Beach.

Included in the 37 tractor trailers from our “With Love from Charlotte” campaign were, to-date, just over 1 MILLION pounds of food and essential supplies. Without you, this would not have been possible. We will be there until our neighboring food banks do not need us anymore.

If you have not donated yet, we hope you will join us as we continue to send love and hope from Charlotte.

BEST WAYS TO HELP:

    • Donate funds that will be directly used for acquiring most needed disaster relief items

  • Donate most needed items to Second Harvest where they will be used in places of greatest need. The area has plenty of water and is no longer asking for that as a much needed item.  Please donsider donating:

- Cereal Bars
- Fruit Cups
- Peanut Butter
- Pop Top Cans
- Tuna

Your support throughout disaster relief efforts provides essential food and supplies for our hungry neighbors. Together, we can help people in their greatest time of need. Once disaster relief and recovery needs have been met, remaining funds and food will be used to support our ongoing hunger-relief efforts.
