We seek to end hunger.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM) strives through education, advocacy, and partnerships to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food.

We provide a regional distribution warehouse and branches that supply food and grocery items to charitable agencies that assist people in need.

Are you in need?

If you or your family are in need of assistance, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina and our partner agencies can help.

We partner with almost 600 agencies in a 19-county area. These agencies include soup kitchens, emergency pantries, emergency shelters, low-income day cares, senior programs and group homes.

Ending child hunger

Children at risk of hunger in the Metrolina region is not just a myth, it’s a reality. 17% of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina’s service area population lives in poverty, including almost 209,000 children and seniors.

Children at the greatest risk of hunger are those who are in deep, persistent poverty. Second Harvest has several initiatives to help serve these children. Please take a moment to learn about Child Hunger in the Metrolina region and join us in the fight to provide one of their basic needs.
