Host a Food Drive

We are thrilled your group is interested in hosting a food/fund drive for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

We try to make holding a food/fund drive as simple a process as possible.  We can provide collection barrels and posters and always appreciate it when a food drive host can arrange for the pickup of supplies and delivery of collected items to us.   We can also arrange for our team to come to you if needed.

Funds are our greatest need and a wonderful way to multiply your giving.  In the big picture, we are able to provide 7-pounds of food into the community for every $1!  Funds help us keep refrigerated trucks on the road allowing us to pick-up and distribute fresh produce, dairy and meats to our partner agencies. We are also able to purchase products by the pallet - securing much needed items at great pricing.  In short, funds result in critical and healthy foods reaching more people in need.

If you are wanting to host a physical food drive that is welcomed too!  Below are our most needed items and we ask friends to avoid doanting glass when possible to minimize the chance of it breaking and not being usable. You may want to incorporate this information  into your marketing materials.

Most Needed Items - Canned Meat, Canned Fish, Canned Fruits, Peanut Butter

To get started,  please fill out the Food/Fund Drive registration form that is available for download below and email or fax it back to the Food Drive Cordinator Lisa Marie Nisely. Her conatact info can be found on the form. Once received we will get you set up in our system and send you the information on our next steps.  It is really that simple.

Download a copy of our Food/Fund Drive Registration Form here. You can fill in the form electronically or by hand. Then fax or email to the address on the form.

In the event you collect any funds off-line, checks can be made payable to Second Harvest Food Bank or SHFBM.  Cash and checks can be given do our driver if we are picking up or you can bring  or mail  them to my attention at the Food Bank with a note that this was in conjunction with your Food/Fund Drive. This way I can be sure it is credited to your drive.  A receipt will be automatically sent to any individual that writes a check or donates online.  In the event of cash, you will need to forward the name and address with the funds of those that want a receipt.

We greatly appreciate your support and hope to work with you soon!
