September 2022

Join Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina this September for Hunger Action Month, a 30 day awareness campaign where people all over the United States stand together to end hunger. It’s a month to spread the word and take action on the hunger crisis — and dedicate ourselves to a solution.

Hunger Action Day, Friday, September 23, is a day where efforts across the country are focused for greater hunger-fighting impact. Please consider joining our team through volunteering, donating, or hosting a fund / food drive to show how you can help us feed our neighbors in need in our 24 county service region.

For people facing hunger, a daily meal poses an impossible choice.

It's often an impossible choice between food and other crucial needs such as childcare, medicine, or electricity. This Hunger Action Month, we're bringing you three stories from our archives that tell of the impossible choices many neighbors have to make, and how those choices often leave pantries and refrigerators empty.

Fill A Box Challenge

Each day add an item from the calendar below to a box. On Friday, September 30, drop off your box at the Food Bank. Click the calendar below for suggestions on how to fill your box with most needed items every day during the month of September. Please share on your social media platforms.
